Meet Us Monday: Best live event

This week’s "Meet Us Monday" is all about one of our favorite things – live events. Those “I can’t believe I was there” moments that you always bring up even though everyone in your world has heard you were there numerous times. And we’ve got the whole team in on this one.

question: the best live event you've ever attended

Jamie: I've got two and I refuse to pick. 1. A night of storytelling with James Taylor at the Fox Theater in St. Louis. 2. Diana Ross at the Ryman in Nashville. Both of these venues provided an intimate space to hear two legends.

Mia: I sat in the second row of “The Lion King” musical while traveling solo in London the year before grad school. It had been a dream of mine to see that musical since I read about it in “American Girl” magazine when I was 12, and I made it happen. That moment meant so much to me.

James: 2011 World Series, Game 7. I even blogged about it which you can read here.

Greg: I would have to say that it would have been a playoff game of the St. Louis Cardinals. It was game 4 of the NLCS playoffs against the Atlanta Braves. With the game tied in the bottom of the 8th inning Brian Jordan came to the plate and put the Cardinals ahead 4-3 with the first pitch he saw by hitting a home run. The Cardinals went on to win the game by the same score. I will forever remember the sound of the crack of the bat and the roar of the crowd. A very exciting game.

Jeff: Everything about SXSW is incredible. I last attended in 2017 and it was truly a turning point for me personally and professionally. The Scout was born out of that experience, I met Aaron Draplin and there were tacos and Topo Chico everywhere. God bless Texas.

Jonae: I would have to say the best live event I’ve ever attended was Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella at the Fox Theater. I was obsessed with the movie version starring Whitney Houston and Brandy when I was younger, so seeing it come to life with such beautiful stage production was magical!
