Meet Us Monday: Favorite places

"I always wonder why birds choose to stay in the same place when they can fly anywhere on the earth. Then I ask myself the same question."  – Harun Yahya

question: where is your favorite place in the world?

Here are the escapes, near and far, that bring us peace and happiness.

Mia, editor: I have several, but one of them is this little alleyway in the Thissio flea market district of Athens, Greece. A lamp shop strung a bunch of mismatched lampshades across the alley; during the day they look funky, and at night, they are lit up and so lovely to walk beneath. It’s the perfect addition to that beautiful, gritty city where a part of my heart still resides.

Jamie, project & event manager: My favorite city would have to be Charleston, SC. From amazing food to the rich history, I was enamored with this beautiful city the first time I visited. In fact, I love it so much I’m headed back for a fourth time in a few weeks! The place that is the most sacred to me is the house where my grandma and grandpa lived before they passed away. If I had known then what I know now, I would have found a way to keep it in our family.

Greg, senior designer: I would have to choose the beach as my favorite place in the world. There seems to be a calmness that comes over me any time that I visit it. The sounds of the waves crashing on the shore, the seagulls chirping in the background, digging my toes into the sand, the constant breeze from the ocean - it just totally relaxes me.

Aaron, photographer/videographer: Probably next to a waterfall or shut-ins or anywhere water is flowing through a strange and difficult course. I’ve never bothered to analyze why it makes me so happy, but it does.
